K-POP Fashion: HyunA Bubble Pop! Floral Dress

This segment is a bit of a broad one-- it can contain anything from identical fashion finds to outfit inspirations based on celebrity street/variety show/MV style.

I'm sure many of you guys know this by now, but recently Forever 21 has been selling a dress very similar to one that HyunA wore in her Bubble Pop! video.  At only $11.50, it's a great price and just in time for the upcoming spring/summer seasons.  Below, I've put together two different outfits-- one for a casual day of classes, and another one for a night out on the town.

Outfit 1:
DressFedoraBanglesFlats

I think this outfit is adorable for a day full of classes, or even running errands.  The fedora is a big trend for the upcoming spring/summer, and looks super cute with this dress.  The nude  flats are literally the most versatile pair of shoes you can find, and go with everything!! Rounding everything off with simple gold bangles allows for a simple accessory that allows the dress to shine.  If it gets chilly during the day, throw on a white cardigan and you're good to go!

Outfit 2

JacketHeels

I was originally going to pair this dress with a pair of fierce red heels, but realized that pink looks amazing with it as well! It keeps the look very soft and girly, but is offset by the tough leather jacket.  Wear this to any party and you're sure to make a scene!

HyunA's dress:

What do you guys think? Did you like the outfits I pulled together? Are you going to be rocking that dress? Post some pictures and let me know!

Let's Meet!: Boyfriend

Hey all! I'm going to try a segment called "Let's Meet!" where I introduce k-pop groups to you guys. First up: Boyfriend, a six-member boyband under Starship Entertainment. Boyfriend debuted on May 27, 2011 with their single "Boyfriend", a bubble-gum pop song showing off their childish charisma.

I'm going to be totally honest- I'm not a huge fan of the group name (much like another Starship group, SISTAR).  The fanclub name, BEST FRIEND although cute, also gives me some doubts.  I understand the group is made up mainly of teenage boys, and they are trying to appeal to the younger generation, but I feel like it only presents an image of cuteness and innocence.  In my personal opinion, the group name alone limits their appeal, and almost gives them a 2 dimensional image.

The single "Boyfriend" also took some time to grow on me, along with their second single 내 여자 손대지마 (Don't Touch My Girl).  I found myself smiling at both videos, but I wasn't too impressed with the super cheesy lyrics and their brightly colored skinny jeans.  It wasn't until their third single, 내가갈게 (I'll Be There) that I started to take a big interest in them.  Although the group still seems to be trying the "innocent" image, their concept is more mature than the first two singles, and their lyrics display this very clearly.  The choreography is very refreshing, and I remember very quickly sharing this video with my younger sister, shouting how much I liked their dancing!

Overall, I am looking forward to more projects from Boyfriend, and feel that they have a huge potential to grow.  I can't visualize them as sexy bad-boys (like 2PM), but I can see them maturing with both their image and music.  I am especially looking forward to their choreography, as it is both exciting and original.

Their three released M/Vs:
                                                                               Boyfriend:

Don't Touch My Girl:

I'll Be There:

Group Members/Ages: Kim DongHyun (23) (leader), Shim Hyunseung (18), Lee Jeongmin (18), Jo YoungMin (16), Jo Kwangmin (16), and No MinWoo (16)

Official Fanclub: Best Friend

Official Balloon Color: none (I don't believe they have one, please correct me if I'm wrong!)

**Extra: At 19, I feel so strange being a noona fan to this group (except the leader-ssi, who is actually older than me!) I wonder how he feels living with such young ones?  Are there any rookie groups you would like to see in this segment? Let me know in the comments below! :)
